Curnis King

Curnis King, 87, of Charleston, SC, formerly of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, in Portland, OR.

He was born in Fair Bluff, NC to the late Eli and Cora King.

Curnis proudly served in the Army.  He was a world traveler who will be best remembered for his golfing talents.  When he wasn’t on the golf course, he could be found at the coast fishing.  He loved sharing his passions with his family, especially trips around the world. 

He taught his children the value of hard work, the importance of education, and the love of family.  Curnis will be missed by all who knew him.  

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca Clark; children, Deborah King Simpson, Ruth Gaston (John), Dwight King (Linda), and Sonya Mosely (William); ten grandchildren, Prassana King, Rayonda King, Brandi Hall, Tabitha Nijor, Meghan Olsen, Tiffany King, Johnny Gaston, Jr., James Simpson, III, Andrea King, and Janai Gaston; eleven great grandchildren; and siblings, Durant King and Clementine Wise.

The family will welcome friends from 9 to 10:30am on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. He will be laid to rest at Lafayette Memorial Park in a private ceremony.
