Listen to Obituary

William "Dennis" Pittman, a beloved family man and dedicated carpenter, was born on October 2, 1957, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. With an unwavering work ethic and over thirty years of experience in his craft, Dennis built not only structures but also lasting relationships centered around love and loyalty.

Dennis's journey through life came to a close on December 30, 2025, at the age of 68. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who cherished his larger-than-life personality. Known for being a "his way or the highway" kind of person, Dennis had an honesty about him that was refreshing and often disarming. A loving father, grandad, and brother, he dedicated his life to nurturing those around him, especially his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. With a no-filter approach to life, he shared countless moments of joy and laughter with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though Dennis worked hard with his hands, it was the time spent with his family that truly enriched his life. He found peace and happiness in their company and shared a passion for community at Freedom Bikers Church, where he forged friendships grounded in mutual respect and acceptance.

Dennis leaves behind his son, Dennis Pittman of Fayetteville, NC; his daughter, Christina M. Smith of Fayetteville, NC; his beloved mother, Evelyn Christine Smith of Fayetteville; his sister, Lisa Dicker of Fayetteville, NC; five cherished grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who looked up to him as a pillar of strength and guidance.

He is reunited in spirit with his father, Buddy Dallas, and his two brothers, Wayne Dicker and James Dool Smith, who have also predeceased him.

As we remember Dennis, may we hold on to the love he imparted and the unyielding strength he demonstrated. His indomitable spirit will continue to inspire those who carry his memory in their hearts.
