U.S. Army SFC (Ret) Manuel R. Barrientes
U.S. Army SFC (Ret.) Manuel R. Barrientes, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away at the VA Medical Center on Thursday, September 8, 2016.
He was born in Hondo, TX, on December 7, 1936, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Manuel and Maria Barrientes.
He proudly served in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Manuel is survived by his wife of 24 years, Anita; sister, Carolina Barrientes; brothers, Lupe and Reynaldo Barrientes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at the VA Medical Center for their compassionate, attentive, and respectful care of Manuel.
