U.S. Army Ret. MSG Samuel Proctor Hubbard

US Army Retired MSG Samuel Proctor Hubbard, 74, of Fayetteville passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Moore Regional Hospital. 

He was born in Lumberton, NC, son of the late Lonnie & Elizabeth Hubbard.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years Glyndetta, two daughters Leigh (Larry) Beauchamp of Raleigh and Amanda (Mark) Yencsko of Charlotte, brothers and sisters in law Jim & Janice Simpson of Hope Mills, Sam and Terri Tolar of Myrtle Beach, Ben and Annette Fox of Boone, nieces Samantha (Dane) Armentrout of Colorado, Kameron (Adrian) Lopez of Parkton, Katelyn Fox of Charlotte, Nicole (Robbie) Jeannette of Greenville, and nephew Joshua Simpson of Dobson.

Sammy graduated from Methodist University in 1975 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and History before becoming a supervisor in the Military Maintenance Division at Fort Bragg.  He served his country for 30 years in the US Army Reserves, retiring as a 1SG.

Sammy was a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, friend, and “pop” to many. 

He was kind, talented, funny, generous and one of a kind. He and his family loved racing, boating and living life to the fullest.  His talents and skills were endless and he could always be found tinkering on some project.

A visitation is planned for Thursday, April 15th, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.  A graveside will follow at 11:00 AM at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery with the rendering of full military honors.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Mt Pisgah Baptist Church
