FAYETTEVILLE -

Retired Army 1st Sgt. Stanley Alan Harvey, 52, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, after a short but very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mr. Harvey was the son of the late Richard C. Harvey.

Mr. Harvey was an avid bass fisherman and received a Bronze Star during his years of service to his country.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife, Desiree; two daughters, Lauren and Katherine; his mother, Isabella; sister, Tina; and two brothers, Richard and Russell.

A memorial service will be held at noon Friday, April 27, 2012, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, NPCF, 3962 S. Delaware St., Englewood, CO 80110; or to the charity of one's choice .
