Sarah Catherine Combs

Sarah Catherine Monroe Combs, 79, of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2022.

She was born on July 27, 1943, in Fayetteville, to the late Alvie Bishop Culbreth and William Augusta Monroe.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, William Lee Combs, Jr.

Sarah Catherine retired as an Insurance Agent with MetLife after 35 years of service in 1998.  She was very involved in the congregation at St. James Lutheran Church.  She was chair of the Fellowship Committee and the sexton for years.  In her spare time she enjoyed completing word finds and watching westerns.

Left to cherish Sarah Catherine’s memory is her daughter, Leighann Combs; sisters-in-law, Joyce Singletary, Jean Parker, and Sandra Faulkner; brother-in-law, Brian Combs; and church family.

A memorial service will be announced in the coming weeks.
