Sandra Bond Ross, 84, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 8th, 2026. She was born in Fayetteville, NC on September 30th, 1942, to the late Ralph and Joan Bond.
Sandra worked at the Fayetteville Technical Institute, now known as Fayetteville Technical Community College, where she performed administrative duties supporting the school community. She also held a secretarial position at Social Services in downtown Fayetteville. Additionally, Sandra shared her talents as a local dog groomer in the Fayetteville community known by the name of “Sandy’s Poodle Parlor”.
Beyond her professional career, Sandra will be remembered as a devoted wife of 61 years, dedicated mother to two children, and beloved “Meme” to her 4 grandchildren. Sandra had a lifelong love of music and dancing, and was especially talented at square dancing. She had a keen appreciation and interest in classic movies alongside her ear for music, a trait passed down to her children and grandchildren. Sandra was known for her meticulous eye for detail, often appearing in the upkeep and tending of her household and garden. She enjoyed crafting, and a favorite hobby of hers throughout her life was tracking familial genealogy. An avid animal lover, Sandra cherished the many animal companions of all kinds who were a part of her life throughout the years.
Left to cherish Sandra’s memory is her husband, William George Ross, Sr. (Billy); daughter, Melanie Maples (husband Gary); son, William George Ross, Jr. (wife Audrey); grandchildren, Sydney Maples, William James Ross, Shannon Maples, & Tyler Ross.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service located at 610 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. The burial will follow after at Lafayette Memorial Park – Ramsey Street
