Listen to Obituary

Robert Edward Sweeting Sr., lovingly known as “Bob,” passed away peacefully at his home on Monday March 16, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and deep connection with those around him. He was born on October 12, 1954, in the Bronx, New York, and was raised in Elizaville, New York.

Bob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Andrea Sweeting, and a proud father to his two children, Robert Edward Sweeting Jr. and Roxanne Torres. He was also a cherished grandfather to his grandson, Riley Sweeting, who brought him great joy.

Bob spent his life working as a mechanic, a profession he took immense pride in. Known for his unmatched work ethic and New Yorker hustle mentality, he built more than just a career—he built lasting relationships. His customers were never just customers; they became like family, drawn to his skill, genuine care, positive attitude and for always keeping it real.

He lived life to the fullest, always ready with a story, a helping hand, or giving advice and ending it with some good laughter. Bob will be remembered for his strength, his dedication, the way he could lift your spirit and the way he would make the best out of any and every situation.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife: Andrea Sweeting, his children Robert Sweeting (Heather) and Roxanne Torres, grandson Riley Sweeting, siblings: Debi Wilson (Rich), Alfred Sweeting (Amy), and Laura Sweeting (Timmy) and step-daughter Christine Minor.
