Rebecca Kathryn Lamb Nunnery, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on March 2, 1952, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to the late Ertle and Myrtle Odom Lamb, Kathryn was a devoted homemaker whose life resonated with love for her family and passion for creativity.
Throughout her life, Kathryn fostered a profound love for art and painting, often transforming her home into a gallery of her creations. Her talents weren't limited to the canvas; she also enjoyed cooking and engaging in various crafts. Kathryn was known for her festive spirit, relishing the joy of holidays, which she celebrated with warmth and enthusiasm, always surrounded by those she cherished.
Kathryn nurtured a deep connection to her community, being an active member of Harmony Baptist Church in Lillington. Her church family held a significant place in her heart, and she found immense comfort and camaraderie among them.
She is survived by her four children: Brad Heinz (Jennifer) of Paris, TX, Michael Nunnery (Crystal) of Cameron, NC, Stacy Knight (Randy) of Spring Lake, NC, and Debbie Bajak of Swansboro, NC. Kathryn took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Brian Nunnery, Ellie Nunnery, Alessa Knight, Tyler Heinz, Zack Mills, and Rachel Bajak, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Dalton Heinz.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter T. Nunnery; her son, Eddie Nunnery; her granddaughter, Olivia Knight; and her siblings, Jack Frazier, Woody Lamb, Nancy Lee, and Shirley Gardner. Each of these individuals profoundly impacted her life, and their memories will forever remain etched in the hearts of her family and friends.
Kathryn’s legacy will continue through all who knew and loved her. A visitation in her honor will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service located at 610 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. A funeral service will take place the following day on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with interment to follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
