Patricia Pope Cropp, age 72, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on January 9, 2026, at her home in hospice care, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 17, 1953, in Cumberland County, NC, Patricia was a beacon of love and support throughout her life, always ensuring that those around her felt cherished and valued.
Patricia dedicated her professional life to her career, spending 14 years with Monsanto before transitioning to Weathers Brothers Moving & Storage, and later, United Van Lines/Eastern Moving & Storage. After these fulfilling years, she chose to retire early to become a full-time caregiver, devoting over 10 years to the care of her mother, step-father, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, showcasing her unwavering love and commitment to family.
As a graduate of Pine Forest High School, Patricia carried with her a loving disposition that earned her the admiration of all who knew her. Her big heart never went unnoticed; she turned her home into a haven for family gatherings during holidays and special occasions, making sure everyone felt included and loved. Patricia had everyone's back, always ready with a dry sense of humor and an award-winning smile that brightened any room. She could often be seen never missing a sporting event, always rooting for her loved ones with beautiful blue eyes gleaming with pride.
Patricia’s hobbies included a deep love for southern gospel music and the beach, where she found joy and solace. A gentle soul at heart, she also enjoyed peaceful walks, embracing the calming beauty of nature.
She is survived by Collier Cropp, her devoted husband of 36 years; her son Daniel Faircloth; her step-children, Yvonne Cropp and Kevin Cropp (Hadley); as well as her beloved grandchildren, Day Cropp, Jocelyn Faircloth, and Khloe Faircloth, who were among her proudest accomplishments. In addition, Patricia leaves behind her loving sisters, Michelle Everidge (Ken) and Sharon Keane (Bryan); brothers, Tim Pope (Carol) and Kerry Pope (Audra); sister-in-law Jennifer Montague; brother-in-law Dan Dent; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Christine Pope Hickman (Charles); her father, Clyde Sizemore; her sisters, Martha Johnson and Shelia Pope Dent; her brother, Chris Pope; and her mother-in-law, Almeda Cropp (Eugene).
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on January 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St Andrews United Methodist Church, located at 121 Lofton Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28311.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church Food Ministries.
Patricia Pope Cropp will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
