Myrtle Marie Webster

April 6, 1928 — June 18, 2017

Myrtle Marie Webster

With the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on June 18, 2017 we are left with deep sadness.  Life will go on, but will never be the same.

Mom was preceded in death  by our dad and her husband of 55 years, Willie "Bille" A. Webster, Sr., her mother Harriett Wallace Grice Whitfield, stepfather Walter Whitfield, her sister Faye Barefoot and her first grandchild Tammy Faith McConnaughey.

Mom was always honest to a fault, loving, giving person who was always there for all of us.  She was funny and you never knew what she would say next, and set in her ways.  She loved reading especially her paperback books and the Fayetteville Observer.

She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and wished she would see them more often.  If we ever called them kids and not children we were reminded that they weren't goats.  She always gave the great-grandchildren kisses on napes of the necks, which she called their sugar holes.

"Mert" as some called her survived is by her sisters, Mable Studenbaker and Lela Mae Tatum; daughter Marie and husband James "Sam" McConnaughey, son Willie "Billy" A. Webster, Jr.; grandchildren Kellie McConnaughey, Cory and wife Stephanie McConnaughey,  Chris and husband Josh Eanes and Shawn and wife Shelly Webster. The lights of her life  great-grandchildren Ty McConnaughey and Matthew and Luke Eanes.  She is also survived  by her many nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her family, but one day we will be with her and our other loved ones.

We love you mom, grandma, and great-grandma.
