Mrs. Madie B. Autry

Madie B. Autry, 85, of Eastover, celebrated her life peacefully on the 27th of December 2016 from cancer at home on Tuesday morning.

She is predeceased by her parents, Eva Ward Bullock and Noah Marshall Bullock, her husband of 56 years, James Leonard Autry, and her son, James Leonard Autry, Jr.

Madie grew up in Wade, NC with loving parents.  She worked at West Lumber Box Co. as a receptionist for many years.  She also worked at Days Inn in Wade for 15 years.

Madie loved to cook and enjoyed shopping, especially during the holiday season.

Madie is survived by her daughters, Rhonda White and Lynne Steenstra; four grandchildren, Pricilla Chavis, Derek White, James Leonard Autry, III, Ryan Steenstra; and one great grandchild, Caleb Chavis.

The family would like to thank all of those who were there for us with love and support during this time.

The family will welcome friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, December, 29, 2016, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  Her funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, December, 30, 2016, at Salem United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
