Mrs. Hellon Beard
Hellon Beard, 94, of Eastover, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Cumberland County on February 25, 1922, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Dougald and Dora McLaurin.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Dan Beard; son, Francis Beard, sisters, Pauline McLaurin, Annie McLaurin, Joyce Averitte, Ruth Beard; brother, Woodrow McLaurin and Eston McLaurin.
Hellon is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ferrell and husband, Larry of Eastover; granddaughter, Donna Paliotti and husband, Yogi of Top Sail Island; great grandchildren, Savannah and Johnny; sister, Lavenia Morefield of Phenix City, AL, step grandchildren, Kim, Michaela, Brittany, and Dillon; daughter-in-law, Aleta Sue Beard of Eastover; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service officiated by Dr. John Campbell and Rev. Dougald McLaurin is planned for 2 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Lebanon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will follow immediately in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
