Dorris Jean (West) Jeffreys, 89, of Wade, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

Dorris Jeffreys was born on April 15, 1926 in Johnson City, NY.  She lived in the Triple Cities of New York State for 61 years before retiring to Rock Hill, SC, thence to Wade, NC.  She was married to William Miles Jeffreys on December 20, 1950 and they raised a daughter and two sons in Endwell, NY.

Dorris was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to have her family around her.  While in New York, she was renowned as the “Washboard Lady” in the local kitchen band.  She was an active member of her church throughout her life.  Dorris loved traveling with Bill and had wonderful memories of trips to Germany, the Bahamas, and, especially, to Israel.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bill, and great-grandson PFC Garrett Craig Parker.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Rose and husband, Victor Jr.; son, William Miles Jeffreys Jr. and wife, Starr; and son, Ray Edward Jeffreys.

Beloved “Mimi” is also survived by three generations of grandchildren:  Jamie Rae and Lee Smith; Christa Leah and Christopher Parker; Benjamin William and Teresa Fletcher; and Shay Marie and Brandon Nickels. Great-grandchildren: Ashlee White, Kellie White, Cody Vandenbark, Justin and Morgan Vandenbark, Kendall Vandenbark, Emmalee Smith, Jennifer Parker, Jacob Parker, Michael Parker, Tyler Fletcher, Kristen Fletcher and Melani  Nickels.  Great-great grandchildren: Hailee White, Mackinzee Autry, Mylee Autry, Aiden Autry, Craig Tyndall and Jax Vandenbark.

Family and friends will be received at Center Baptist Church, 4210 Center Church Road, Wade, NC at 4:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2016.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of her late great-grandson, PFC Garrett Craig Parker, US Army, for The Garrett Craig Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund, made payable to Harrison County Bank, 1215 Johnson Avenue, Bridgeport, West Virginia 26336 .
