Mr. Steve W. Kaufman

Steven Wayne Kaufman, 38, of Raeford, NC, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017.

He was born in New York on April 3, 1978.

Steve truly enjoyed and appreciated music of every genre, especially 80’s music.  He found great joy in collecting comic books, playing his guitars, and cooking for his family.  He proudly served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army.  During his time in the Army he earned his paratrooper wings and worked as a Satellite Communications Systems Operator.

Steve is survived by his wife of 18 years, Heidi; mother, Gale Walker of New York; brother, Gary Walker Jr. of Raleigh; aunts and uncles, Karen and Richard Norwick, Harry Kaufmann, Ed and Barbara Kaufman; cousins, Nicole Torre, Russel Kaufman, Khrystal Barry, Robert Rooney, Sammy Wilson and many more; best friend John Gregory; Alan and Debbie Miller, in-laws and brothers-in-law, Greg and Alex Miller of Ohio; his military brothers in the 514th Signal Company; his work family at Century Link and all the people he brought love and joy too.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:30 pm concluding with a burial at Sandhills State Veteran’s Cemetery.
