Mildred Lewis

Mildred Johnson Lewis, 89, of Fayetteville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

She was born in Samson County on June 17, 1933, to the late Bascom and Mollie Johnson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, William Lewis, Sr.

Mildred was an avid quilter who loved teaching others the art of quilting.  She retired from Home Federal savings and Loan after 37 years of dedicated work.  An adoring mother and grandmother, she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Left to cherish Mildred’s memory are her children, William Lewis, Jr. (Sandy) and Sandra Lewis (Mike Smith); grandchildren, Will Lewis, III, Tiffany Carpenter (Matthew), Ashley Smith, and Alyson Smith (Alex); great grandchildren, Mia Smith, Silas Fantauzzi, Natalie Carpenter, Eli Carpenter, Dylan Carpenter, and Greyson Smith; niece and nephew, Annette Bordeaux and Howard Strickland; and many special friends.

The family will welcome friends from noon to 1:30PM on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Northwood Temple Church.  Her funeral will follow at 1:30PM.  The service will conclude with a burial at Lafayette Memorial Park.
