Mrs. Michele Weaver Denton, of Spring Lake, died Friday, April 6, 2012.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Monday, April 9, 2012, in Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory in Fayetteville. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park in Spring Lake.

She was born in Rome, Ga., and lived for many years in Fayetteville, where she worked for Cumberland County schools, first as an assistant teacher and then as a bookkeeper. Michele had a vibrant spirit and a pleasant, positive attitude that came with a warm, friendly smile and a quick laugh. She enjoyed reading, art, traveling and cooking.

After her retirement, Michele moved to Saint Simons Island, Ga., where she lived with her husband, Edward Denton, who survives her. She often volunteered at the local library. Michele is also survived by her two children, Windy Remer and Jeffrey Weeks; four sisters. Debbie, Rebecca, Emily and Jane; two brothers, Mark and Gabe; and four grandchildren, Matthew, Elanor, Samantha and Zelda.
