Mable Matthews Lynch

Mable Odell Matthews Lynch was born on February 6, 1923 in Sampson County to the late Owen Matthews and Addie Vann Matthews. Mable loved her daddy and spending time with him. Mable was not the one to sit around and decided to take advantage of the program, NYA by President Roosevelt. Mable finished High School and set out to take on the world by getting work at Ft Bragg prior to World War II. Mable was proud of her history working with the civilian side of the Army and her service during many wars and conflicts; she loved her job and country. Mable worked first at Ft Bragg and then enjoying brief assignments at Ft. Ord, Monterey Bay and Ft. Monroe in Virginia where she retired with over 40 years of service in 1983 and returning to her home city, Fayetteville, NC. Mable along the way of life met and married her Korean War Vet husband, Dale L. Lynch.  Mable had lots of fun in life with family and seeing the country. Mable loved doing stuff with her cousins, Rozelle, Abby and Bernice and had fun with great friends like Thelma, Ceil and Eva. The names of family and friends are many but some come to mind as Mable talked about many fun times. Mable had a loving sister, Mary Elizabeth Matthews Sessoms and a close brother, Jerry Matthews, all now are one family in God's Kingdom.

Mrs. Mable loved spending time in Naples, Florida and traveling around the country during her younger years.. Mable had a love for animals as she loved her cats and dogs. Her cat, Twinkles, was a close companion of 16 years after her husband passed away. Mable also enjoyed gardening and enjoyed displaying pictures of her flowers and plants on social media. Mable leaves behind many who loved her and two caring daughters, Bridget Lynch Rosenstock of Southport and Sandra Lynch Leone of Greensboro. Mable had two son-in laws, James Rosenstock and Salvatore Leone. Mable was special to Salvatore and left a hole in his heart upon her departure from this world. Mable loved her Grand Daughter, Melissa Rosenstock Gales and four great grand children, Damien, Gavin, Kingston, and Marcus. Mable also leaves behind loving nieces and nephews Mary Lane, Gary Sessoms, Eddie Matthews, & Craig Matthews.
