Louie E. Hough, beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 27, 2025. Born on December 29, 1954, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Louie led a life characterized by honor, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his family and country.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Louie served with distinction in the Special Forces, ultimately attaining the rank of Sergeant Major. His military career stands as one of his proudest accomplishments, exemplifying his dedication to serving the nation he loved so dearly.
Beyond his commendable service, Louie was known as a man of many talents — a true jack of all trades who could build or fix anything that came his way. His exceptional skills and boundless resourcefulness further underscored his awesome character as a father. He treasured spending time with his children, Amanda Schall and Rachael Weidemann, and was a steadfast presence in their lives, always ready with guidance, support, or a helping hand.
Louie took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Rylan Schall, Ava Musselwhite, and Violet Musselwhite, and delighted in the joy brought by his great-grandchild, Roman Hernandez. His ability to inspire and nurture those around him solidified his legacy as a loving patriarch.
Louie’s warmth extended beyond his family, as he genuinely loved animals and fostered deep connections with living creatures. He will be remembered for his kind heart and ability to bring people together. His spirit resides in the cherished memories created with loved ones, and his remarkable life has forever touched the hearts of those fortunate to know him.
Louie is survived by his daughters, Amanda Schall and Rachael Weidemann; grandchildren, Rylan Schall, Ava Musselwhite, and Violet Musselwhite; great-grandchild, Roman Hernandez; sister, Karen Scheuerman; and brothers, Donnie Hough and Jimmy Hough. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eudora Hough.
As we celebrate Louie E. Hough's extraordinary life, we remember a man whose legacy of love, service, and integrity will continue to inspire us all.
