Kenneth Chavis, III

Kenneth Chavis III, age 59 passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones on Thursday, July 17, 2025. He was born November 14,1965 in Fayetteville, NC to Kenneth and Olivia.

He was a 1983 graduate of Pine Forest High School. Upon graduation he attended Pembroke University in Pembroke, NC. After attending Pembroke, he enlisted in the US Army and served 12 years of honorable service. Hawaii was his last duty station, and he remained there for 31 years.

He started a very successful construction business and was well known throughout Oahu for his high quality craftmanship. In his free time, Kenny and his partner Sun Ok adored their pets and enjoyed gardening.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Chavis, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Olivia Chavis; 4 siblings, Douglas Tutt, Andrea Chavis, Jack Chavis and Jill Chavis; 2 children, daughter Marie Chavis and son Kenneth Chavis IV; and his beloved partner of 20+ years, Sun Ok Ah Quin.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in the chapel of Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. Burial will take place at noon, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
