Celebrating the Life of Julio Soilo Soto
Julio Soilo Soto, a man of quick wit, deep passions, and a legendary sense of humor, passed away peacefully in Garner, North Carolina, on December 8, 2025. He was 63 years old.
A Life Rooted in Faith and Family
Born on May 25, 1962, in the heart of New York City, Julio was the beloved son of the late Jesus Julio Soto and Blanca Esther Soto-Rivera. Central to Julio’s life was his deep and unwavering faith in God. It was this spiritual foundation that guided him through life’s challenges and shaped him into the loving father, brother, uncle, and grandfather his family cherished. He was a friendly neighbor to all, living out his values through kindness and a helping hand.
A New Yorker’s Spirit
In his younger years in New York, Julio was known for his energy and rhythm, often found roller skating or dancing the night away. While those days of skating passed, his vibrant spirit never faded.
He remained a die-hard sports fan, living for the crack of the bat at a New York Yankees game and the intensity of the gridiron supporting the Washington Redskins (Commanders). His appreciation for discipline drew him to boxing and Kung-fu, where he found a lifelong hero in Bruce Lee. He also had a deep passion for the track, following NASCAR, Indy Car, and drag racing with the enthusiasm of a true aficionado.
Laughter and Wisdom
Above all, Julio loved to laugh. He had a playful soul and spent hours enjoying comedy, "Bushman" pranks, and funny animal videos—anything that brought a smile to his face and those around him.
He moved through the world with a unique blend of humor and hard-earned wisdom, often sharing his favorite philosophies:
"No debts, no regrets." "Don't worry, take your time, keep it low and slow." And when it was time to move on: "Váyase!"
Family Legacy
Julio’s greatest pride was his family, whom he loved fiercely. He is survived by his son, Emmanuel Julio Soto; his daughter-In-law, Hilda Linnette Soto; his grandchildren, Zenyda Judith Soto, Emmanuel Julio Soto Jr., and Elias Antonio Soto.
He now joins his mother, Blanca, and his father, Jesus, in eternal rest, safe in the arms of the Lord.
Julio’s legacy is one of faith, laughter, and a reminder to keep life "low and slow." He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind... and Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." — Matthew 22:37-40
A memorial service to celebrate Julio's life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1 pm at Sullivan's Highland Chapel.
