James C. Mitchell

James C. Mitchell, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.

James was born in Wayne County, NC to the late Forrest and Doris Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Otis and Eutice Mitchell. 

Left to cherish James’ memory is his wife of 69 years, Shelby; his sons, Tim Mitchell and David (Cristie) Mitchell; grandchild, Chad (Jessica) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Sadee Gray, Olivia, and Claire; sister, Betty Strickland; and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at New Hope Baptist Church on Rosehill Road. The funeral will follow at 1:30pm in the sanctuary. The service will conclude with burial at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Services are entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
