James R. Grizzle, 81 of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He served his country for 20 years in the Army, and was a Vietnam War veteran. He worked for Kelly-Springfield for 20 years. Mr. Grizzle was a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church, and a Mason and Shriner at Creasey Proctor Lodge No. 679 AF&AM.
Mr. Grizzle is survived by his wife, Joyce F. Grizzle of Fayetteville; two sons, James L. Grizzle and wife Regina of Roseboro and Jeffery D. Grizzle and wife Eileen of Winston-Salem; a brother, Hayward Grizzle of West Virginia; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Rebecca and Sarah.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Cedar Falls Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Following the service, burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Falls Baptist Church Building Fund, 6181 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28311; or the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
