On July 4, 2026, the world changed for everyone who loved Howard Earl Lewenson—known affectionately to many as Howie. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1952, Howard was a beacon of quiet determination, gentle humor, and steadfast devotion. His life’s journey carried him from the industrial heart of Scranton to Fayetteville, where he spent his final days surrounded by the love of family.

Howard’s story is woven with threads of hard work, deep curiosity, and tireless commitment. Early on, he discovered a natural affinity for understanding how things worked. This passion led him to pursue and earn a bachelor’s of science degree in electronic engineering technology at Capitol College in Kensington, Maryland—a decision that would shape his professional and personal path for decades to come.

For 25 years, Howard dedicated his skills and talents as an electronic technician at Lumidor Safety Products, where his meticulous nature and “Mr. Fix It” instincts shone brightly. Those who worked beside him knew a man resourceful as he was cheerful—a problem solver with a tinkerer's heart and a knack for making even the most complicated repairs seem effortless. After his long tenure there, Howard’s career transitioned to serving others in a new way. For 14 years, as a public safety officer with Allied Security at Aventura Mall, his sense of responsibility and care for those around him was evident to all who crossed his path.

Howard retired in 2019, closing the chapter on a long and meaningful career, yet never ceasing to be the go-to handyman for friends and family. His hands—always busy, always building or restoring—were matched only by a spirit that delighted in helping others.

To those who knew him best, Howard’s legacy is not only in the work he did, but in the laughter he brought. Quirky, with a great sense of humor and a love for joking around, he could brighten a room with a few words or draw a smile with a clever remark. Laughter, for Howard, was a form of connection, a way to bring joy to the smallest moments.

More than anything, Howard took immense pride in being a devoted husband and father. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Glorianna, whose partnership was a constant source of strength and warmth. He is deeply mourned by his daughter, Crystal, and his son, John, whose lives are a testament to his patience, wisdom, and unwavering support. Remembered with fierce love are Howard’s grandchildren—Delilah, Johnathan, John Jr., and Ja’Siah—who carry his spark and share his sense of wonder. Among those missing him are his nephew Stuart Strome; his sister, Suzan Giloni; and his brother-in-law, Dov Giloni, each grieving a cherished uncle, sibling, and friend.

As we remember Howard, we also honor those gone before: his sister Holly Strome and his son, Eric Earl Lewenson, who surely welcomed him with open arms.

The community is invited to gather in loving remembrance of Howard on July 13, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service, 610 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey St, Fayetteville.

Howard’s story—a tale of humor, resilience, and devotion—lives on in every person he touched, every joke shared, every problem solved with steady hands and a smile. He answered to “Howie,” to Daddy, to Grandpa—each name echoing the depth of love he cultivated with quiet pride. Though he is gone, the echo of his laughter, the warmth of his wit, and the memory of unwavering kindness will remain in our hearts, forever guiding and inspiring us.
