Ernest "Ernie" T. Gore

Ernest “Ernie” T. Gore, 63, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Duke Hospital.

He was born on September 12, 1954, in Conway, SC, to the late Luther and Annie Gore, Jr.

Ernie greatly loved spending time with his grandchildren, wife, and family. He enjoyed his time spent as a Freemason and Shriner.  He was a prominent leader within the local mental health community, who dedicated his life’s work to helping others.

Left to cherish Ernie’s memory is his wife, Zena; daughter, Hannah Kenny and husband Paddy of Fayetteville; son, Ernest Terry Gore, II of the Outer Banks; step-daughter, Meredith Guy of Garner; step-son, Joshua Guy of Greensboro; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn, William, Carolyn, Holden; brothers, Harvey Gore of Fayetteville, Louie Gore and wife Sharon of Fayetteville, Ashley Gore and wife Ruth Ann of Fayetteville; many nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Durant Blanton of Fayetteville; along with many friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  A memorial service will follow at 7pm.
