Erma Acker Young

Mrs. Erma Acker Young, 81, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 9, 1935 in Cumberland County NC to the late Floyd Edgar Acker and Sudie Eugenia Scoggins Acker.

She was a member of Culbreth United Methodist Church. Erma owned and operated Erma’s Hairstyling for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by a son Christopher Alan Young and a brother Floyd Acker Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years Ernest Harold Young Sr., of the home; two son’s Ernest Harold Young Jr. and wife Anne of Yorktown, VA, and Douglas Elwood Young and wife Sharon of Hickory, NC; three grandchildren Joseph Barton, of New York City, NY, Christopher Bullard and wife Katherine, of Fayetteville, NC and Amanda Bullard, of Charlotte, NC; one brother Robert Acker and wife Beverly, of Fayetteville, NC.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.

The family will leave in procession from the funeral home to the graveside at 10:45 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park.
