Eric Matthew Arthur, born on May 27, 1981, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska. Eric lived a life dedicated to his passion for mechanics and the connections he built with others throughout his career and personal life.
As a skilled fleet mechanic and technician in the oil and gas fields of the Alaska Slope, Eric applied his expertise and attentive nature to ensure that vehicles not only functioned properly but also met his high standards for appearance. He held two degrees from the University of Alaska, one as an automotive technician and the other as a diesel technician, which laid the foundation for his successful career.
Those who knew Eric understand that he was a truly engaging individual. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger and always ready to extend a helping hand. He served as a mentor and father figure to new and inexperienced mechanics, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with those just starting on their career paths. Eric's willingness to teach and support others reflected not only his technical expertise but also his generous spirit.
Eric is survived by his father, Danny Arthur; brother, David Arthur; nephew, James Arthur; and niece, Helayna Arthur. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Arthur.
Eric's legacy will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched, both through his professional guidance and his vibrant personality. His passion for working on vehicles and commitment to mentoring others will continue to inspire many in the years to come.
