Listen to Obituary

Donn Scott Tracy, 62, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away peacefully in early October 2026.

Donn was born to his late, proud parents, Brandon and Dorothy Tracy. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Teresa (Terri) Tracy, and his cherished bearded dragon, "Puppy". He leaves behind his sister, Tamela (Tammi) Groesbeck, his brother-in-law, Eisaku Groesbeck, and his niece, Rasy Groesbeck, as well as a lifetime of deeply valued friendships.

Donn was a man who lived by the code of working hard and playing hard. Growing up, he was an avid surfer who found joy on the waves and inspiration in the music of his favorite band, RUSH. He had a passion for anything nostalgic, a legendary love for singing karaoke with his buddies, and was a die-hard, lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, always cheering on his beloved team. Known for his infectious smile, happy demeanor, and thoughtful nature, Donn never had a bad thing to say about anyone and brought warmth to every room he entered.

Donn deeply loved his country and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. During his distinguished career, he was an integral part of the 355th Combat AGE Team, the "Fighting Falcons," at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in the late 1980s and early 1990s, contributing to the squad being named the Combat AGE Team of the Year in 1990. Donn also deployed in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, playing a vital role in those historic missions. Throughout his decades of service, he earned numerous Air Force Achievement medals, ribbons, and honors. Donn was incredibly proud of his military years and held a deep, lifelong bond with his fellow USAF brothers and sisters. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.

Condolence cards, letters, and shared memories are deeply appreciated by the family and can be sent to his sister, Tammi Groesbeck, at PO Box 203 Fountain Inn, SC 29644
