Donald C. Bernhard passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 from a long, courageous battle with colon cancer.
Mr. Bernhard was a retired member of the U.S. Army. He is survived by daughter, Margaret Goetz, son-in-Law Leonard Goetz of Maryland; daughter Betty Martin, Son-in-law Michael Martin of Atkinson, NC. Grandsons Christopher Bernhard and wife Kimberly of Fayetteville, Kenneth Martin and Daniel Covington of Atkinson, Granddaughter Melissa Garcia and husband Arnaldo of Fayetteville, and four great grandchildren; Austin Bernhard, Dominick and Jullyana Garcia and Kenlee Duncan.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 15th at 10:00 am in the Sandhills State Cemetery in Spring Lake with military honors.
