Delores Bullard Breswitz

Delores Bullard Breswitz was born on April 19, 1943, in Lillington, North Carolina, to John E. Bullard and Beulah S. Bullard, both of whom preceded her in death. An only child, Delores shared a special bond with her parents and carried throughout her life the values of hard work, faith, compassion, and perseverance that they instilled in her. Though born in Harnett County, she was a lifelong resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she built a life defined by faith, family, service, and compassion.

For more than forty years, Delores dedicated herself to the real estate and property management profession. Through her rental business, she helped provide affordable housing to countless individuals and families throughout the Fayetteville community. She approached her work not simply as a business, but as an opportunity to serve others. Her generosity, fairness, and genuine concern for people left a lasting impact on many lives. Many families found not only a landlord in Delores, but also a trusted friend and advocate who cared deeply about their well-being.

Delores was first married to Jim Louis Breswitz, who preceded her in death. Later in life, she was blessed to marry Andrew “Pat” McNeill, sharing companionship and love during her later years. Through their marriage, she was also blessed with two stepdaughters, Amy Dalrymple and Kaycey Mclaughlin, who became cherished members of her family and held a special place in her heart.

Delores was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life and the guiding force behind every decision she made. A faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, she served as a deacon for many years and was deeply committed to the life and ministry of her church. Whether through leadership, fellowship, prayer, or acts of service, she sought to honor God in all that she did. Her Christian witness was not confined to Sunday mornings; it was reflected daily in the kindness, humility, grace, and love she extended to others.

Even after she was no longer able to regularly attend First Presbyterian Church, Delores remained steadfast in her faith and commitment to worship. Following her move to Raleigh, she became an avid supporter of Hayes Barton Baptist Church, frequently attending services with her son James, his wife Carrie, and their family. When she was unable to attend in person, she faithfully watched their TV broadcast ministry and rarely missed a Sunday. She was especially fond of the ministry of Dr. Hailey and looked forward to his messages each week. Her devotion to worship and her desire to remain connected to the church community reflected the deep and abiding faith that sustained her throughout her life.

Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her son, James Breswitz and his wife, Carrie, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and their children, Landon, Jackson, and Holden; and by her son, Marty Breswitz and his wife, Kim, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, along with their adult children, Jonathan Breswitz and Amber Sweat. She was the proud grandmother of six great grandchildren each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Family was at the center of Delores’s life. She loved deeply and gave generously of herself, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her children were blessed not only by her love and support, but by her example. Her greatest desire was to see her family walk closely with the Lord, and she faithfully modeled that commitment every day of her life.

Outside of work and church, Delores enjoyed selling Avon for many years. Her family often joked that she was her own best customer, a reflection of her enthusiasm for all things Avon. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved, and her warm spirit brightened every room she entered.

In January 2024, Delores moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she became a resident of Abbotswood Assisted Living. There she formed treasured friendships with fellow residents and grew to love the dedicated staff who cared for her. She especially enjoyed participating in weekly Bingo and Jolly ball games, which brought her great happiness and fellowship. In April 2026, she moved to Val’s Place, where she received exceptional care, comfort, dignity, and support.

Delores was a beautiful woman both inside and out. She embodied the Christian values of faith, kindness, generosity, humility, and unconditional love. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life reflected a servant’s heart. Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and selfless love touched countless lives and leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 11 am to noon at First Presbyterian Church in the parlor. The memorial service will follow at noon in the sanctuary.

Though her absence will be deeply felt, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life. The faith that sustained her through every season of life now carries her into eternal rest. Her family finds peace in knowing that the life she lived so faithfully has now become sight. While she will be profoundly missed, her memory, her example, and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
