Dallas James Christensen, born on May 16, 1948, in Walla Walla, Washington, passed away on December 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love. He served honorably for over 20 years in the Army, including a significant tenure in Vietnam where he fulfilled many vital roles. Dallas often spoke fondly of his tours in Germany, reflecting the pride he felt in serving his country.
Dallas had a generous spirit that shone brightly throughout his life. He cherished the joy of Christmas, taking on the beloved role of Santa Claus for children and selflessly filling in for coworkers during the holidays to allow them precious time with their families. His compassion extended far beyond his immediate circle, as he was a steadfast supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital, embodying his commitment to giving back to the community.
He was not only known for his service and generosity but also for his vibrant personality. Loved sports, especially the Braves, and had a deep appreciation for country music. In his spare time, he enjoyed moments spent with his loyal poodle, Charlie, who remained by his side through the years.
Family was of utmost importance to Dallas. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Stella Bass Christensen, who stood beside him in all of life's journeys. He embraced his role as a stepfather and is remembered fondly by his stepdaughters, Judith Ann Rowe (Paul), Joan Bass Hendrix (Gerald), and Jeanette Christina Garner (Ernie). His family continued to grow, bringing him immense joy through his grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Jamie, Gerald, Randolph, Nancy, and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emory, and Gavin. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Marlin Ray Christensen, Ralph Warren Christensen, Bernard Christensen and Monte Neal Christensen. Marrying Stella and welcoming her family into his life were among his proudest accomplishments.
He joins in eternal rest with his mother, Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Christensen and father, Harris Neal Christensen.
Dallas's funeral service will be held on December 19, 2025, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service in Fayetteville, NC, starting at 2:00 PM, followed by his burial at Lafayette Memorial Park at 3:00 PM. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
