Connie Lee

Connie Lou Lee, 71, of Hope Mills, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in her home with family by her side.

Connie was born on October 3, 1950 in Fayetteville, N.C. She retired from Crossmark in 2010 where she was a sales representative. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hunting, fishing, and mostly talking about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse C. Lee and Nicy J. Lee. She is also preceded in death by her fiancé of 20 years James Larry Gappins, her brother Curtis Leroy Lee and wife Margaret Lee and brother-in-law Michael Hulbert, Sr.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Tammy Diaz and husband Marco Diaz of Hope Mills, NC, Bobbie Bunnell and companion Stephen Mckoy of Fayetteville, NC, Lalon Fargo and companion Andrew Coley of Fayetteville, NC; stepdaughter Mary Kurk of Dade City, Florida; a stepson Angel Romero and wife Felicia of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren, Jessica Adkins, Robert Beatty, Jesse Bunnell, Austin Lance, Justin Stone, Damien Fargo, Abaddon Romero and Arion Romero; eight great grandchildren, Olivia Adkins, Wyatt, Kyrian, and Isabelle Bunnell, Brody Stone, Bently Fargo, Jesse Rose Lance and Roger Lance; three sisters Linda White of High Point, NC, Glenda Hulbert of Dade City, Florida, Carol Hales and husband Danny Hales Sr. of Supply, NC; and many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and cousins.

Connie was a mother and mema, before anything else and always chose to selflessly care for her family. She cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren relentlessly and would make a point to share her love and devotion over every phone call, every video chat, every voice message, and every text message.

The family will welcome friends from noon to 1pm, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.  Her funeral will follow at 1pm, in the chapel.  The service will conclude with her burial at Whispering Pines Baptist Church Cemetery.
