Carol Griffin Williams

Carol Griffin Williams went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her parents and brother on June 24, 2026. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, who will cherish her memory for years to come.

Carol was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on September 15, 1945, to Edna Odom Griffin and Daniel Clayton Griffin Sr. She graduated from Seventy-First High School and later attended business school in Atlanta, Georgia. She was raised in MacPherson Presbyterian Church and later attended First Presbyterian Church.

In 1968, Carol married her perfect match and the love of her life, Chester Byron Williams Jr. Their marriage was marked by devotion, companionship, and enduring love. Carol spent her professional career serving the community through her work at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital and Cape Fear Valley Hospital. She enjoyed traveling to both the mountains and the beach and especially treasured time spent with family and friends. Carol will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her kind heart, and her constant sunny disposition, which brought joy to everyone who knew her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Daniel Clayton Griffin Jr.; and her nephew, Turner Wellons Griffin. She is survived by her devoted husband, Chester Byron Williams Jr.; her sister-in-law, Jency Wellons Griffin; her nephew, Daniel Clayton Griffin III; and extended family members, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's honor to the Legacy Fund at MacPherson Presbyterian Church, 3525 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303.

 A memorial service is scheduled for 3pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at MacPherson Presbyterian Church.  The family will conduct a private family burial.
