Carla Renee Crider, radiant soul whose warmth touched everyone around her, this world on March 11, 2026, at Duke Hospital. Born on January 21, 1970, in Greene County, Tennessee, Carla lived a life that was as vibrant and full of love as her personality.
Well-loved by those fortunate enough to know her, Carla was an outgoing spirit who had an extraordinary ability to illuminate the room. Her infectious laughter and bright smile were a source of comfort to many, and her kindness left a lasting mark on all who crossed her path. She found her true love when she met her husband, Joshua Crider, under serendipitous circumstances—met on a Wednesday that blossomed into engagement by the following Saturday, a testament to the undeniable bond they shared. For Joshua, it was indeed love at first, together they built a beautiful life rooted in support and compassion.
Carla took great pride in her and her family, pouring her heart into caring for Joshua and their cats, Stella Artois and Macaroni and Cheese. Her nurturing nature and dedication to family were among her greatest accomplishments. Carla's love for her fur babies was almost as boundless as her love for her family; her cats provided joy and company that only those with a deep appreciation for animals can understand.
In addition to her loving husband, Carla leaves behind her cherished father Charles Ottinger, and step-mother, Margene Ottinger. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Jennie Phipps, Sheila Neas, and Randy Ottinger, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Each laugh shared and moment spent with Carla is a treasured memory that will linger on in their minds.
Carla was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Faye Ottinger.
As we remember Carla, we celebrate her life. her light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those knew her, reminding us of the beauty love, laughter, she shared. Carla Renee Crider will be missed deeply, but her spirit will forever guide those who navigate life without her physical presence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local animal shelters and/or cat rescues, in her honor.
