Bruce Alan Landon, born on February 12, 1961, in Topeka, Kansas, passed away on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A dedicated patriot, Bruce served over 20 years in the Army before transitioning to a career as a correctional officer in Raleigh. His commitment to serving his country and community defined much of his life.

During his military service, Bruce proudly earned his Bachelor's Degree in business accounting from the University of Kansas. He was known for his "by the book" approach to life and work, which reflected his steadfast principles and discipline.

Bruce cherished family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving, when the house was filled with loved ones and he singlehandedly took charge of preparing the turkey. He took immense pride in being a devoted husband, father and grandfather, celebrating the accomplishments of his family. With one grandchild serving in the military and another attending college, Bruce had every reason to be proud of the legacy he was building.

When not working or spending time with family, Bruce enjoyed his hobbies, including golfing, grilling, and cooking. An excellent cook, he was particularly renowned for his beef jerky and ribs, always eager to share his culinary creations with others.

His life was marked by significant milestones and accomplishments, including being a proud homeowner and reveling in every success he achieved through hard work and dedication. Bruce is survived by his children, Celestina I. Acosta de Santos, Rosendo E. Acosta Cortes, Jorge O. Acosta Cortes, and Iris D. Acosta Cortez; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his nephew, Wendell Heim. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Magdalena Maria Landon, his mother, Marilyn Heim, and father, Wendell Landon.

As we remember Bruce, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, pride, and unforgettable memories. His legacy will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew him and loved him dearly.
