Barbara R. Wyle

Barbara R. Wyle, 87 went home to be with her Lord on March 26, 2018. Born on January 30, 1931 in Bainbridge, GA, Barbara lived most of her life in New Bern, North Carolina and graduated from New Bern High School, and attended East Carolina University. Barbara worked with the  V.A. and Belks garden center  for a number of years.  She was most active in her churches where she held the position of an elder and was involved in Sunday School, women’s groups and Bible studies.  Among the delights in her life were her friends in the Flora MacDonald Garden Club and her book clubs. Barbara was an avid reader.

 Barbara is survived by her husband Dr. Ewart H. Wyle Jr., her daughter Susan Butler Allan & husband Marvin & his family, 2 step-sons: Patrick Wyle & wife Nancy, Bradley Wyle & wife Marie, step-daughter Michelle Gergurich &  husband Edward, granddaughter Ashley Blue & husband Roscoe, grandson  John W. Butler Jr., 8 step-grandsons, 4 step-granddaughters,  great-grandson Roscoe Leighton Blue, step-great grandson & 2 step-great-granddaughters;  brother Thomas Earl Riddick & wife Janet. 3 nieces, 1 nephew & 10 great nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, former long time husband Charles Smith, sister Carolyn Howeran, step-son Ewart Wyle, III, & grandson Charles Butler.

Services are going to be held at Highland Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am on Friday, March 30, 2018, reception following. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Highland Presbyterian Church.
