Antonia was born in Aschaffenburg Germany in 1928. She married William E Merritt in 1954 and they made Fayetteville their home. She was a 38 year Red Cross volunteer at WOMACK pharmacy. She loved gardening and traveling.
She is survived by her two sons James E. Merritt and his wife Lynn R. Merritt, William M. Merritt and his wife Devon C. Merritt, and her sisters Marga Amrhein, Eva Freund, and Elvira Genschor. She had three grandchildren Stewart and Alissa Stafford, Kristin and Asin Raja and Sarah Gilbert. She had four great grandchildren Noah and Azlyn Raja and Brooklyn and Alexis Stafford.
She was a loving wife, amazing mom, and great friend.

Funeral services will be held on October 13, 2011 at 11am at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd.
