Allene Williams

Allene Wellons Williams, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 14, 2017.  Allene was born on May 22, 1934 to Clifton Carl Wellons and Lydia Celeste Leggette Wellons.  She attended St. Mary’s and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill.  She married her high school sweetheart John C Williams III.  They were married 61 years, had 4 children, Cathy Stanfield (Mike), Jay Williams (Genie), Jeff Williams (Sue), and Susan Williams, 11 grandchildren 2 of which preceded her in death and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and Faith were the focus of Allene’s life.  She dedicated her life to God and enjoyed studying and teaching the bible.  Allene loved music, singing, and playing the piano with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved to cook, shop, and do crafts.  Allene loved people and knew how to make everyone feel very special.

Services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, December 18th at the First Presbyterian Church on Ann Street.  Visitation will be following the service in the church parlor.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to First Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice.
